I don't care about optimum times to cut back on my rose bushes. I just do it when they are looking bad, and that is usually about 3 times a year.
Besides growth that goes toward the central part of the bush, I also cut off any dead or diseased branches and heavy growth to thin it out for better air circulation.

I’ve always done one major pruning on Valentine’s Day and a minor pruning on Labor Day. I deadhead as needed throughout the year.

Optimus Fiber had a crew spraying herbicide and killed everyone of my knockout roses. Arseholes. And don’t speak any ENGLISH.
