My cages won’t last the summer with these heirloom beauts/brutes. Building last minute stands using dowels and wire and having to cut my existing stands/trellis.

I used a setup with a post at the end of each row (with a support post in the middle if the row was too long) and stretched a heavy wire from post to post. Each plant was supported by a single long piece of twine with each end tied to the wire above it so that the twine made a "V" shape. The twine was looped around the plant as it grew taller. I would keep two main stems on the plant, and pinch any "suckers" off. Depending on how much the plant spread I could slide the twine out a bit to account for it.
I saw this method used in an Amish garden. It worked well.

Thanks for the advice. I will try and adapt it to 10” raised beds. Got them in a 12’ x 4’.

I use 6 foot bamboo stakes a foot in the ground. Once the plants get to the top of the 5 foot steak I don't need them to be any taller and cut the tip off.
