Dang ole man that's beautiful. I just had my first kid in February and my wife bought me my first pair of new balance shoes. So now I'm striving to achieve a yard like this. Everyone in my neighborhood has centipede and one st aug. You can see the common bermuda popping through everyone's centipede. I want to go all bermuda in the back yard to start.

I agree with you, only my front yard is really clean centipede right now and my backyard is nothing but dirt, weeds, and bermuda. I chopped it and regraded it and then every species of weeds took over. However, I'm thinking of killing all of that and letting the bermuda do its thing. If that goes well, I'll start to convert the front yard.

Mow lower than you’ve ever mowed.
Mow more often than you’ve ever mowed.
Fertilize weekly.
Water more than you normally would.
I’m in year two of doing what you’re starting and I’ve mowed 7 out of the last 8 days

I’ve been in there for quite a few months now. My favorite posts revolve around seedheads. What are these weeds?!

You bet. I’m really pleased with the 9 month transformation, but I’ve put many hours into it. Weed management is key. You can’t improve turf without it. I’ve pulled many by hand and I’ve sprayed quite a few times and started applying pre emergents.
You’ll probably want to level too. I’ve added sand to low spots 2-3 times this year.

The following is an example of improved turf quality in just a few weeks.

If you want to go through with this project, The Bermuda Bible will be your best friend. Seriously, you can’t mow enough. Sharpen those blades and buy a couple of bags of high nitrogen fertilizer to get started.

Fantastic. I’m on it. Anything specific you go to for weeds?

Depends on weed type, but mixing Celsius + Certainty takes care of most broadleaf weeds and sedges. This is the combo I've been using on my Tifway 419 and it hasn't let me down yet.

Lots of Bermuda dominators here. I find in the outside world lots of people want to be dominators until it’s time to do dominator things.

What Ziggy said.
I recommend broadcast spraying at half the label rate 3 weeks apart.
Otherwise, you may have grass discoloration and stunted growth.

Enjoy the journey!
