Anyone here ever replaced their recessed lights with a tool for ceilings too tall to stand on normal sized ladder? If so, what was your experience with said tool? I’ve heard mixed reviews on them.

You mean replacing the light bulbs or the whole fixture? I have one of those extendable tools, use the suction cup end for flood lights mostly because most fixtures are too weak to use the spring gripper option. Just use a piece of 550 cord to release the cup.

To clarify, simply replacing the bulb with new floodlight one. Is the extendable tool available at Lowe’s?

Yeah, Lowes or Home Depot have them.

I've had more or less positve results with the extendable suction cup thing.

EXCEPT the one time on a bulb in our 18 ft ceiling, I pressed so hard trying to get the cup to attach to the burnt out bulb, I pushed the socket up into the fixture box.

Every now and then the bulb would fall off the suction cup for me on the way down, so just be ready to call an audible and catch it if that happens
