We recently bought new outdoor couch cushions. We live behind the old Almatis alumina plant in Gonzales, and the red dust from the tailings can be a problem on occasion. They are working on a fix but that’ll take time. Would ScotchGarding the couch cushions help preserve the cushions from staining or is that a waste of time/money?

It may work, give it a shot. Apply more than one coat.

My wife and I seemed to break out every time we used scotch guard on things. Another option might be outdoor covers for your furniture. Amazon has different brands, sizes, and shapes available.

Get “never wet” outdoor fabric spray. It’s far better than scotch guard.
