PVC wrap on posts

I've got some 8x8 fluted aluminum posts that the paint is peeling in several spots. To look right I would have to strip of blast the posts, use etching primer, then repaint. I was thinking it may be easier to just wrap in PVC.
I am having an issue finding wide enough trim pieces. Anyone have a source around South LA for what would be about 5 1/4 or thinner 10" wide 10 ft. long PVC boards? aluminum. Pieces that wide have been the issue.

I had the same issue with my aluminum columns. I primed mine and painted with Latex paint. It’s been five years and no issues.
