Porcelain "marble"

I am about to redo my master bath and have been thinking marble herringbone floors and 12x24 (or bigger) for the walk in shower walls. Now I'm starting to think about the porcelain "marble" instead to save money. Anyone done this? Happy you did? What brand and "marble" pattern did you go with?

Are you referring to synthetic marble? If so,
Pros: less expensive by about half the cost; easy to waterproof
Cons: never looks as good as tile. Will yellow over time.
Overall you’ll likely save about $2k-$3k

You’re not talking about that much tile on a wall for a shower so you’re not going to save that much money. Plus it looks fake. What are your shower floors going to be?

No I’m talking about the ink jet printed porcelain that is made to look like marble.
I have about 300 sq feet of herringbone “marble” for the floor and 150 sq feet 12x24 for the walls in the shower

There is some really nice porcelain tiles out.
Marble can be a pain to keep clean and seal.
Either way, you'll be fine. Flip a coin.

I did the large tiles in my master bath 3 years ago, saved a ton and looks great.

You have small tiles for the floor of the shower as well, correct?
I would say you need to match everything, or at least have it in the same material. Porcelain floors with real walls would looks off.

I'm having a problem finding porcelain marble that I like in 3x12 (floor) and large sheets 12x24 and up (wall)

Yes. In our master bathroom. Looks fantastic. Went with a white tile with grey veins
