I have a row of green beans left to plant in a raised bed. It’s been raining steady for the last couple of days and will for a few more. Can I plant now when the ground is wet or wait for it to dry up and some good sun.

I’m in Houston.

A raised bed will dry out much quicker than a traditional garden. Plant the seeds since they do need moisture to germinate and every time I've directly sown seeds into the ground of my traditional garden I water them twice a day to keep the ground a bit moist.

What you don't want is for the ground to completely dry out once the seeds germinate and show growth above ground since their roots are real shallow during this time and it won't take long for the plants to die.

I like to water newly emerging plants for a couple weeks or until their true leaves show up and start growing.

Most seedling will put out oval shaped leaves when they first emerge, then they put out their true leaves after that.
