I'm looking to renovate my backyard in two phases. First phase will be to to cover the patio and install an outdoor kitchen. Looking at Pinnacle's IG page, they have plenty of pics of exactly what I want. Wondering if anyone has had good/bad experiences with them and where they rank on the cost scale. The second phase will be to install a pool if it's possible. I have some challenges (drainage/size) with my backyard so I'd like someone to tell what is and what is not possible. Whether or not we can do a pool will dictate where I put the outdoor kitchen so I'd like to use the same contractor for both.

I had Pinnacle come out about 18 months ago to quote a gabled roof patio extension, 20x28, brick fireplace, electrical, cypress bead board, and it was like 48k

I can't even imagine what it would cost now. Prepare thy anus if you use them. No doubt they are at the top of their profession but my goodness.

i didn't go the gabled route and me and a buddy of mine who does construction framed the new addition ourselves over 2 weekends. I hired a sub to do the shingles. hired a brick sub to do my outdoor kitchen(which wasnt even in the pinnacle quote) and my outdoor fireplace. i did the bead board myself with some help from my neighbor. SUPEr happy with how it turned out. I got all i wanted minus the gabled roof. I think i'm all in about 12k. this is before the 70000% jump in material costs.

ETA: we followed this exact video. mine is wider than this one. my fireplace is on the right side of the patio cover

Did you tie into your existing roof?

Sent them detailed drawings, several follow-up emails promising they’re working on it, then got nothing.

I have had the same issue. Probably had 5-7 contractors come look at the house and still haven't gotten a detailed bid back. Too much new construction work out there.

Pinnacle is great but expensive, as any good contractor will be. I have used them as a contractor on several jobs i designed. They def are worth the money.

I used Pinnacle last year in March to install a pool in my backyard, as well as renovate our hangout area/mancave on the back porch. As others have posted, they are a bit more pricey than other contractors, but we had no issues with them. I dealt with a project manager named Christian (or maybe his name was Chris, been a while) who was very accessible and easy to communicate with.

Probably a dumb question but do I need to get drawings before contacting them or will they do the drawings themselves?

I didn't have to. They told me they just needed an architect's drawing if I tied into my roof probably for liability purposes.

They are 2 to 3 times more expensive than the average construction company in this space. I had them out last year to quote a hip and ridge patio extension to tie into my existing room. They sent back a bid of well over 50k and this did not include any outdoor kitchen. I continued to get other bids. One from J Wallock construction. His bid was in the 30’s and I really liked him but went with A & M construction. I was really happy with the work. I’m sure Pinnacle does great work just wanted you to know they are high. Pictures in previous post.
