Patio roof riser brackets

Does anyone have any experience using these brackets to attach a patio cover to existing roof? I can’t attach to fascia because it’s too low. You have to wonder how strong these brackets are and I wonder about leakage just screwing them on top of shingles.

You have to tie in at the top plate of the wall. You don't tie in at the end of the eves.
