For home use, Ryobi is good to go. You get about 80% of Dewalt or Milwaukee quality, for about 50% the cost.

I’ve even branched out to Ryobi fans, lights, inflators, and they all are fantastic.
This is where Ryobi truly shines; they put out a TON of lesser-use tools at good, cheap prices, and you can use them with the same batteries.

My own unofficial list of essential cordless tools/gizmos:
Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench. Enough juice to easily pull the lug nuts off my Silverado, or the blade off my mower. I'm sure Milwaukee and Dewalt are 'better', but they don't cost $100 for tool+battery.

Ryobi small fans and shop lights. Doing the brakes in July in La can be hot. You don't know you need a fan, until you have one for about $20, and put it about a foot away while you're working. Then, you're "why didn't I have this years ago?" Same thing applies to LED lights that aren't in the flashlight format. Stick that fricker under the car when it's up on jack stands, and it's a world of difference.
*and just wait until you lose power awhile during storm season, you will love those.

Ryobi little cordless vacuum. Ideal for cleaning the interior of your cars. 75% or more strength of a shop vac, 5% of the bulk.

Everyone wants a drill, driver, and yard tools like a blower and trimmer. Ryobi's work fine.

The ONE area where I will say you want a different brand/tool, is
Milwaukee 12v 3/8" ratchet. That is small and compact, and strong enough. I use the shite out of mine. I have a Ryobi attachment for their (discontinued) OnePlus multitool and it functions, but it's so much bigger that it's clumsy to use.
