My outdoor light fixture does not have a ground (only black and white wires). Can i remove the fixture and install a ceiling fan with no ground? The house was built in 94, so the light has operated well for a long time.

If this is acceptable, I'm going to install one of these: Ceiling Fan Support as I do not have attic access,

I've wired them this way before. Haven't had a problem.
