Does anyone have a hot water hose or hot/cold? Does the extra cost of running the plumbing for new construction make it worth the benefit of having hot water to a hose? Would place it where I would be washing a bay boat and cleaning ice chests/crawfish pots.
Also, if building a new home today, what would you want that you don’t have now or what do you have that you like? TIA

The house I built, I had a hot water line stubbed out. I had to to supply water to boat house. It will not take that much extra copper to run it, go ahead and do it.

I would have created a landing zone/entry space from the garage entry into the house. Crap tends to collect near that door, would be nice if I’d have created a vestibule with some storage there.

Would also have made the back porch 3-4’ deeper, and put gutters just on the section overhanging the porch. Splash back keeps me cleaning that porch.

Also should have put deeper cabinets adjacent to fridge to allow for a full depth fridge rather than a counter depth unit.

100% put a few hot water spigots outside where you might need them.

Put connections for a washer and dryer in your shed also.

Thanks everyone.

We do have a mud room entry from the attached garage Before entering the kitchen with a built in for storage in the plans.

Pex Pipe is roughly $.11 per foot. The answer is yes. Install as many spigots as you want for next to nothing.

Your new house had copper? Most new construction now is 100% pex
