Need advice on what to do with shady lawn section

This spring I put down some of the Pennington shade mix. It contained the following:
Tall Fescue
Perennial Ryegrass
Kentucky Bluegrass
Fine Fescue
From about March - late June, lawn was doing fine. I watered occasionally and kept it alive and mowed when needed. Once the temps stayed well above 90 and past 100 a few times, I had neglected the yard and most of it had died off. I'm now left with basically what I started in the spring, but a few small patches of grass remaining.
What would be the best thing to do with my shady sections now? Should I put more seed again and be more diligent about watering? I really just didn't think the heat would be that aggressive for so long.

Those are cool season grasses so they won't handle Louisiana heat very well. How shady is it? You can try Geo zoysia.

Most people seed cool season grasses down here around this time for the purpose of having a green winter lawn. I didn't know it would hang around for so long.

Yeah I really just wanted something to cover up what we had, which was just dry river silt.
It's our backyard which has a massive tree canopy. I've already tried pruning as much as I could without needing to climb 20+ feet to get any other branches, which seems unnecessary.
Where's the best place to get that zoysia? And could I seed now or should I wait til early Spring?

Are you suggesting I see the shade mix now? I just know it's probably going to die from another heat wave if I try later on. I'd rather go with a good zoysia that can blend with my St. Augustine that gets almost full sun.

Here's what it looked like July 1st.
Below is a panoramic I took last week after mowing. Bottom left is where the above photo is.

Rather than thinking of it as a shade mix, it's really a cool season grass mix, which means it works up north in the summer and down south in the winter.

But then it would die in the summer, no? Zoysia should hold up year round if maintained?

Yes, I wasn't suggesting the cool season grass as a year round option (there are none here), but it would look good until spring at which point you can kill the cool season grass intentionally and get started on your new geo zoysia lawn.
