I wouldn’t say it takes extra care but it is a little different. It’s not going to heal as quickly as Bermuda does and is more disease prone in my opinion. Overall I would say it’s pretty similar when it comes to most things homeowners are getting into. It isn’t going to be as drought tolerant though.

I have Zeon and cut it around 5/8 with a reel mower. If you have a rotary, drop it as low as it will go and bag every mow. Thatch is an issue with Zoysia.
