I have a wood fence with brick pillars. I can move 7 feet closer to the road without violating any restrictions. I’d like the added space to my back yard. Is there an easy way to move the pillars or would I have to knock them down and rebuild them?

There’s no moving those pillars easily. This would be a good idea to put behind you unless you have a lot of money to pay somebody to redo the whole fence.

I don't think there is any moving of brick pillars happening. Even if possible, I just imagine the integrity of the pillar going to shite if they were able to be moved. Just sleep on it if 7 extra feet is worth it.

You're not moving a fence. You are constructing a new one and tearing down the old.

yea you can't just brick up a brick column and its footing and move it. it doesn't work that way

You can't really move brick columns.

I would always make sure my fence is as far forward as possible so I have as much back yard as possible.

Just build a new fence (with no columns) and tear down the old fence.

Fence should have never been built that far back.

That's what I was planning to do. We bought the house with the fence there. There were trees/overgrowth along the outside of the fence, that's why the builder put it where he did. We're looking to install a pool, that's the reason I'd like the xtra sq footage.
