I have a regular compressor that I use for nail guns, etc. Will this gun work with a regular compressor or do I need something different. I’m just wanting something to paint my shed and some furniture.

Better question is will your compressor work.
Probably need a 4cfm and 15 gallon or better compressor.

Or a Makita 5200, 5.2 gallon and 6.5 SCFM a 90 psi.

I have a Campbell Hausfield 13 gallon
6.9 SCFM @40 PSI
5.5 SCFM @5.5 PSI
I’m guessing this will work then. I just wasn’t sure if there was a compressor that was made specifically for paint sprayers.

I’m sure there’s compressor built for just painting but with the specs you have and the specs we posted, you’d be fine.
I say go for it if reviews and QnA on it are positive.

It will work ok, just don't expect to spray for more than a handful of seconds at a time. HVLP guns don't need more than 50 psi depending on the paint you are spraying but they do consume a considerable volume of air. I have a Kobalt siphon/pressure feed HVLP gun for latex paints, been painting my kitchen cabinets with it this week. Practice on a scrap piece of drywall and dial in the gun before you get started and buy/use paint filter funnels. Even new paint has gobs of solids that will block a sprayer with a quickness. These sprayers take patience and experience, don't be in a hurry.
