Anyone have any experience with these? Thinking of getting one for the yard. Not a blower/vacuum, but a walk behind self propelled vacuum like the link

I picked up a Troy-bilt version about 6 years ago, non-self propelled. Game changer if you have to deal with a lot of leaves, but you better have a good place for a big compost pile or a good way to bag them when dumping the collector. Also, that bag gets pretty heavy as it packs in far more leaves than a lawnmower so watch your back. If my TB bites the dust I am going to upgrade to a Billy Goat self-propelled model.

I wonder how well something like this would work on pine needles.

I have a Cub Cadet version. Had trouble in the past years with getting it to start and would bring it in to get serviced. Probably spent more on service than the unit itself.
Now that I run ethanal-free gas (89 octane) with Seafoam, starts every time and does the job. When it dies, I'll get a Billy Goat with a Honda engine.

The feature I like most is the self bagging feature. No need to dump out a bag into another bag in order to dispose of the leaves. Also the self propelled feature as well as electric start is nice.

I would be concerned with how the discharge hose looks like it is making contact with the back of the engine in some of the online product photos. That's definitely a way to rub a hole in the hose.
