Kenmore 500 Washer stopped spinning - fix or not worth it?

So my Kenmore 500 Washer has slowly stopped spinning. It started off making very loud knocking noises towards the end of the spin cycle, and now either does not spin or spins slowly (very light loads or empty washer).
I've looked online and I think the motor is going bad, but I'm no appliance repairman. I'm fairly handy (replaced parts on dryer, oven, etc...) in the past, but have never messed with the washer.
I'm debating trying to fix the washer vs just replacing with a similar used unit off of FB, CL, etc... I don't mind the time associated with fixing it but don't want to spend $150 on a motor only to find out that's not the problem, etc...
So, does anyone have experience with this issue on this washer or a similar one? And how difficult is the repair I'm looking at?
Here's a picture of the same model washer I have:

Get it fixed. The new ones won't clean as good as yours. Keep fixing it until you can't anymore.

Fix it for as long as it can be fixed. New machines are garbage compared to the old ones.

A common failure point is the motor coupler. They can wear out and break over time.
If you still think it's the motor, then check the windings and make sure your don't have a short before you buy a new one.

Thanks. I think I might try replacing that and the drive block. They both seem somewhat inexpensive and straight forward to replace.
