Is it too late to spray Atrazine in Baton Rouge?

I have St. Aug that has mostly recovered from the summer dryness, but it is a little thin and I’m worried about weeds taking hold. Also, is there anything else that I need to do to it to prep for winter?

No - you can spray Atrazine now - it has both post-emergent and pre-emergent properties. Though I’d suggest you might consider using this “winter cocktail” mixture.

What else - considering using a pre-emergent herbicide like Prodiamine or Dithiopyr (Dimension) - you’ve missed the optimal window for Fall application, but still not too late - not all cool season weed seeds have germinated.

I wouldn't do atrazine. Is it safe yeah, it is fine but as Craw stated do a true pre em. 0-0-7 granular barricade, simazine, etc.

Is the winter weed cocktail a post emergent? I put down Lesco Stonewall in OCT. I have a sh*t ton of weeds and I'd like to knock them out since we're putting our house on the market soon.

I could take picture of the various weeds but there would be LOTS of pictures. I'm hoping the WWC would kill all/most of them.

Atrazine does have a little pre em efffect but the main purpose of the cocktail is to kill existing weeds.

As ronk said - yes, it’s applied as post-emergent. It’s my understanding that there is a synergistic effect of combining the the two herbicides, that give better post emergent control of weeds than using them separately.
