Is it the right time to spread sand to level yard?

Baton Rouge new house that has a bunch of ruts in the back yard. I want to go get a yard of mason sand tomorrow and spread it out.
Is now the right or wrong time to do that? Is there a better time for it?

Well that is the problem with doing it now. It could easily wash away with the first few storms of spring since there won’t be much growth now in the lawn.

Make sure you buy washed, or mason sand. Bank sand brings lots of weeds with it.

Yep. Made this mistake when I did mine and I battled weeds for years. Do it in the late spring with mason sand
