Interior Wall Paint Question

Had a brain fart when painting a wall in the house. Had a leftover gallon from original contractor and just ordered the same paint/finish not realizing it was the trim paint with a high gloss. Now my wall is shiny.
I’m going to order the correct finish, but I’m wondering if I need to sand/prime then paint or if I can go ahead and sand and just paint over this. Same brand, same paint, just flat instead of high gloss

How long ago did you paint the wall?

Flat paint on walls is the worst. Gets so marked up and dirty.
If it was me, I'd sand and prime it. Not great adherence to high gloss trim paint.
Then I'd use egg shell for my walls, not flat.

To be on the safe side, I'd prime it with a good Sherwin William or Ben Moore primer. Not sure I'd worry about intense sanding. Maybe a quick one.
If the paint's fresh, it would probably be fine to just re-coat it in the flatter finish but it's not a big deal to throw on a coat of primer since it's all prepped to paint anyway.
