I made a French Rolling Pin

I should’ve taken more pictures, so apologies for that.

I started with 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 pieces of maple and walnut.

I cut them in 45 degree slices, roughly 3/8” inch wide.


I glued them together. It took days as I never glued more than two pieces together at a time. This part was a particular pain in the arse.


I turned it on a wood lathe. Voila

A lathe. Man, I want one, but I know I'd lose a finger or hand doing something stupid.

I did make a matching coaster set out of Cypress/Cedar a few months ago.
