I have a 4 year old HU800AWD that has been a dream to mow with until recently. I decided to clean the deck for the first time ever, and ever since it has been horrible with side discharge and bagging.

When side discharging, it only discharges maybe half the clippings, with the rest bunching up where the bagging chute is until they fall out behind the mower in large clumps. It never did this before cleaning the deck.

When bagging, probably 20% of the clippings come out in a consistent line from the back on the right side of the deck a few inches behind the discharge shoot when the deck goes from round to straight. Again, never did this before cleaning it.

I was careful when cleaning it to not bend or break any of the shields, so I have no idea why it is doing this.

Are there any known issues that would cause this?

When you cleaned it not everything was put back where it was and how it was attached and positioned originally.

That's the thing though. I did not remove anything when I cleaned it. I turned it on its side and physically removed caked grass from the underside of the deck. As far as I can tell, nothing is missing or bent out of place.

I hate to break it to ya OP but those are junk mowers and 4 years is about as good as it gets for them. I have had three brought to me for repairs and the parts and cost of labor were more than the mowers were worth. I managed to make one good mower out of the other two, sold it, and scrapped the others save the engines.

Get a new blade. The lift on the blade is probably been worn down and the ‘cake’ was masking the issue. You need the lift/sail of the blade to force the grass into the bag or out of the side discharge.

Sadly I tried that.

Did one of the wheels get accidently adjusted up or down? Or are you mowing a lot of grass with long, tough seed shoots?

Nothing has changed in the type of grass I'm cutting or the frequency I cut from when it worked great to now. For reference it is a mix of KGB, Rye, TTTF, and Fine Fescue that is Relatively weed free. I typically mow every 3 days, always when it is dry. About 2/3rds of an acre.

Checking the wheel settings is not something I have thought of though. I'm am pretty sure they are all between 5 and 6, but I'll verify that. Good feedback.

yep, like I thought all the wheels are on the same setting. I was hoping it would just be that easy. It's a shame I can't seem to find any good pictures of the underside of the deck for this mower just to verify that nothing is bent or out of place. It's the damndest thing.

You're probably right. My son has an all wheel drive Husqvarna. Is there a way to adjust the walk speed? It's much slower now. Thanks
