How to enclose a Blackstone Griddle

I'm about to dive in on framing out cabinets for an outdoor kitchen in my covered patio. I have a blackstone griddle that I'd like to add a place for, almost like a built in grill. I'm thinking that using Hardiboard or concrete backer board like durock to surround it would be enough to protect the wood framing, but am I wrong? I'd rather not accidentally burn down my house trying to cook on the griddle. Should I use metal framing and sheet metal rather than wood framing and plywood, or will the cement board do enough?

Following along because I was thinking about doing the same thing last night.

I am planning the same and I will frame it a bit bigger and line the whole thing with fire brick. I have the rear drain model so I'm also going to heat up some pvc pipe and bend it so that it fits around the drain and leads under to a cabinet into a bucket.
The tricky part is really that the heat from the Blackstone mainly is on the very top and sides. Frame it low enough so that those portions are hitting fire brick and not wood.
My plan anyway. May end up doing metal for the drain.
