Bought 23kw diesel this year. Right at 14k. Portable so I can bring anywhere I need to(parents, relatives, friends, etc...) Another 2k to set the house up with manual transfer. I have the ability to store 400 gallons of diesel so no brainer for me.
With proper maintenance I will have a generator for life.

guy i know just had one put in...i think 20kw for 9300. sounded high to me
