How far do you think a hairbrush made it down a toilet?

My 2 year old decided to throw her hairbrush in the toilet then flush it. The toilet she threw it in is clogged but the other ones in the house are running fine. What's the best way to go about sorting this out?

Highly unlikely it got past all the bends in the toilet.

I'd pull up the toilet and do my best to see if it's still in the toilet and maybe accessible from the bottom side.

That way, you can also look down the floor drain to see if it's stuck there if it did get past all those bends.

And once you get it fixed, remove all hair brushes from the kids reach.

I think toilets have a built in “p” trap to stop sewer gasses Fromm coming back up. I would run my hand down in there and see if you can feel the brush

Car keys, remotes, and phones too.

Take the toilet off the ground. I’ve had to do it twice with my girls flushing stuff down. It didn’t make it far

For some reason, kids love to throw their toys in the toilet too.

Same here. My son with a toy and daughter’s brush. Recovered both by removing the toilet.

Get one of the 10' snakes with a camera on the end. That thing has bailed me out a million times and it was super cheap.

Has the display attached to the end of the snake.

My old neighbor's kids flushed a toy once. I saw the wrapped plumber's van in their driveway and shot him a text, thinking it was the septic tank again. He said they had to pull the toilet and fish it out. Told him I could have saved him some money on a service call for future reference. I think it was a doll's head that had popped off and she tried to flush it. Most large items don't make it past the internals of the toilet. After that it is usually a 4-inch pipe and will go on down.

Not all have traps, the trap many times, is the toilet. We water in the bowl acts as the "p" trap.
