Anyone got a great way to get rid of them? They are bad this year around the pool and our new neighbor has bought a donkey and a couple goats and sheep that I’m pretty sure have made it worse. There is also a pond about 75 feet from our pool as well so I know that isn’t helping but it’s not on my property.

Seems like the only thing that works are those traps with the black sphere on them. The black sphere heats up in sun, fooling the horsefly into thinking it is an animal!

ETA: Those, unfortunately are pricy though…

I usually stay out in the pasture with the horses at dusk and dawn and kill the horse flies as they assault the horses. Only way I know to get them.

Just need horses that are sacked out so they don't spook when you slap the fly.

Fishermen may know better something about blue double stick tape, they are attracted to the color?
