Homeowners Question

I know this is a horse that continues to get beat, but wondering who you all have had success with for homeowners with recently. My renewal is coming up and went up $2k last year. Agent said he's not expecting anything that drastic but checking for options.
On a side note, I was selected for the fortified roofing grant recently. Got the evaluation done and got ahead of the game getting quotes for roofs while waiting for that. Low and behold after getting insurance quotes I've seen 0 to little savings, which makes no sense for me financially given the out of pocket cost I still have with the $10k.
One of the roofers said insurance companies saw the money Louisiana politicians threw in on the roofing grant program and their reduced premium collections for discounts given and have tightened up. New roof would have been nice but not if it's going to cost me more than what I'm currently insuring

You should edit the title to say Homeowners Insurance Question, or something like that.

I have been happy with SURE, Sage, or SageSURE (not sure what the current name is). Had them during Ida, and other than overvaluing my Dwelling Limits by about 25%, they have been great to work with.
My broker was able to quickly have them reduce the Dwelling Limits to a more reasonable figure.

I just switched to them from Safeco and saved around $1700.

Unfortunately USAA won't cover where I live. Had them at our previous house.

In North LA, Shelter, Farm Bureau, and USAA have by far been the best with taking care of their homeowners.
State Farm and Allstate are by far the worst and it's not even really close. Don't even get a quote from either so you're not tempted to go with them. I personally would self insure before I ever went with them. I am speaking of homeowners since that's what I deal with everyday, I can't speak for auto.
