Ours went up 50% in Dallas. Able to keep 1% deductible.

Mine has doubled in over 2 years. It’s insane. And contents coverage far above what I need and they won’t reduce it to lower premium a little. I know contents isn’t much, but every bit helps. It’s criminal what they are doing. Someone told me they knew of a person refused coverage until their outside of home was painted.

If you really want to get in to what is the best policy and coverage for you property, learn what to look for in the policy and how to interprit the policy language.
This is a great book for non-lawyers and lawyers alike to understand policies:
When getting a new insurance quote, ask for the declaration page "dec page" and check the endorsements. Each endorsement must be filed with your state's Dept of insurance. You can go read each endorsement to confirm what is covered and not covered.
Also, a major different in home owners policies is Actual Cash Value policy vs. Replacement Cost policy.
You don't need to know this stuff, until it is too late..
Also my last tidbit... An exception to an exclusion in a policy = coverage.
