Grounding a room for recording music

I have a converted carport that serves as an office, exercise room, etc. Also, I keep all of my guitars and amps there. I don't know how long it has been converted, but I get a lot, too much noise when playing. We have been here 20 Plus, and I'm sure it was converted way before that... Any suggestions?

What exactly are you asking? Grounding or insulating? Because they're two different things. Unless there's something about grounding to make the guitar quieter, or the outside traffic quieter, I've never heard of.

I am getting way too much background noise from my amp. It is not true feedback, but noise. It is worse on one side of the room. I have switched wall sockets, Amps, and guitars, and still. I have turned off lights and the ceiling fan. I have isolated the amp away from other electronics. Still too much dirty noise to record, or even play for fun.

Single coils or humbuckers? You’ll never ground out the 60-cycle hum on a single coil. You’ll need to shield the guitar.
