Grass ID

I'm in TN with a tall fescue lawn. This stuff is taking over. When it first popped up I thought it was bermuda and hit it with Bio Advanced Bermudagrass Control (Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl ). The surrounding fescue has yellowed as the label has said but this stuff has not been impacted.
Any help identifying what is it and how do I get rid of it?
Thanks

Really hard to tell from that picture. It looks like it could be several different grasses. Any seedheads, runners, etc.

I cut it before it get seed heads. Haven't seen runners.
Hopefully this is a better picture.

I think it could be quackgrass. Tough to tell from the pictures but it looks very similar to what I dealt with in my yard.

One indicator of quackgrass is clasping auricles - I could only find 2 auricles in your second pic and they looked like they might be clasped. It grew much quicker and much taller than the rest of my grass and started to take over pretty quick. The surefire way to know is to let it grow out and make a seedhead.
The only way to get rid of quackgrass is to dig it up or roundup it. I chose roundup (they have complex root structures) then fertilized heavy to crowd out the smaller bunches of it that I missed. Good luck.

I agree with both posters above. I would guess perennial rye and not annual rye. I do see the quack grass id though. The seed head will tell all. Let one patch go to seed.
