looking to replace my garage doors that are getting pretty beat up and openers that don't work so well with medium to high end possibly insulated...good openers is a must
any recommendations for brands of both doors and openers?
Also any recommendations for a good dealer/installer on the north shore?
Thanks

replaced mine recently and found numerous reviews saying Chamberlain is a little better than Genie. I got one with a belt drive that's a LOT quieter than the belt drive unit it replaced. One feature that I like a lot more than I expected was WiFi connectivity; it's handy to just check my phone to double check that I closed the door when I can't remember whether I did or not or open it so a friend can borrow something from my garage and then close it after he leaves.

Yep, now I wonder how I lived without it.

Look at side mount if you want to jack your car up or if you want to move the rails closer to the ceiling.

should I have them replace the tracks while they are at it?
getting a quote by tomorrow morning on insulated and new chamberlains...not sure what brand door they will quote me

i guess that depends on the cost and the condition of the existing rails.
Also, I replaced my old chain drive with a belt drive. I'll never go back to chain drive again. Belt drive is much quieter.

probably not unless they're in bad shape
I would, however, look at changing out the rollers to nylon if you've got metal ones now - much smoother and quieter

My FIL recently had these installed and they are pretty sharp and extremely quiet:

That’s what I said. The standard style lifts the door much more awkwardly and requires the rails be in dumb places if you have high ceilings. They’re also always in the way. Wall/side mount is the way to go.

Consider a battery backup feature if power outages are common. Not cheap, but worth a look.
My older relative insisted on this because he was terrified the power would go out and he would not be able to get out in his vehicle. He was not able bodied enough to manually open the door. I've also known of women who had no idea how to open the door w/o power or were too short to reach the cord.

I would have thought brand new doors would come with brand new rollers
