Fungus on my pergola

In South Louisiana.
I have a pergola that is untreated lumber. I recently applied 3 coats of oil based exterior polyurethane.
Today while going on the roof I noticed mushrooms growing out of some of the boards. I can't believe anything can grow through the oil based coats.
What should I do to kill and prevent the fungus?

You will need to clean it. I use a mixture of simple green and bleach. Just scrub it. Follow up with a pressure washer. Prolly need to do this annually.
