French Drains

What’s the running rate for French drain installation these days? All along my rear fence line is a large puddle of water. The sun doesn’t hit it well so is doesn’t evaporate quickly. What can I do to the other spots in my yard that collect water?

Can you run a drain pipe to a culvert somewhere? Or would you have to pump it from a catch basin?

The culvert is in the front yard. I would have to drain to the side of my house into the road which is sloped to drain into the culvert.

Put in a few catch basins, run a tail line to the street. If you want someone to do it for you, let me know.

Use pvc as much as you can and as little of the black corrugated pipe as possible.
It's not too bad a project to do yourself (with a couple friends perhaps)

A few years ago I eliminated worsening large areas of standing water by having two catch basins put in worst places with 4" tailpieces to a back ditch. Later solved wet ground adjacent to house by adding roof gutters that fed into 3 basins with a 6" pvc to front curb. Runoff control in flat Baton Rouge is not simple or cheap. For me basins with pipe made more sense than French drains.
