Federal Whole Home Generator CO Warnings (Even if the Generator Placement Meets Code)

They mention recommending placing the generator 25ft from the home, in a lot of properties that isn't feasible. I believe there should be a vertical blower pushing fumes away from homes rather than strictly horizontal to the house. That's where these issues are coming in.

In the video interview, the placement of their generator met code, but CO still made it into the house and they believe it made it through the soffit.

The issue is that too many people have piss poor sealing and ventilation of their homes. Simply moving the generator further away doesn't necessarily mitigate such a hazard nor is it feasible for most installations.

Link to the actual CPSC report since new agencies are too lazy to link these reports themselves.

CO monitors are cheap enough to be worth putting in several places. Do it.
