I agree. Also, be sure to check around the A/C return duct, but with a negative pressure in the house, I would think the return duct would be ok.
I wonder what his attic temperature is? My guess is that the attic is a little cooler than most houses.
Also, check the outlet air vents in the house. Hold your hand close to it to feel the air flow. If a duck in the attic has a big air leak, that connecting vent will not have much air flow. My guess is a duct going to the kitchen area is blowing out air in the attic.

Check your return air Issues. If return air is restricted then things could go negative.
Check your supply ductwork for leaks. Bad leaks could cause your house to go negative.
Are any exhaust fans running? Any exhaust will make your home negative. Hood exhaust, bathroom exhaust should only be used when necessary.
