How did it work out? See any benefits?
I think it helped for sure but in the following 2 years I got a new AC, added 2 whirlybirds, blew in more insulation and an entire new roof to boot.
I think the whirlybirds made the biggest improvement to the attic and the extra insulation even more improvement. But for a few hundred in materials, the radiant barrier is worth a few mornings in the attic .
Oh, and no cell reception issues at all for me

Can’t speak to before and after but my attic has the laminated roof decking boards as well and the attic never gets hot. It’s just warm in middle of the day, now I will say the height of the pitch is quite high so I’m sure that helps as well but I have to think at minimum it’s worth the install.
Would be neat to have some sort of deployable umbrella over your house in the dead heat of summer. An umbrella idea wouldn’t absorb the heat like shingles, wood, and bricks do.

I think that's sort of the idea behind radiant barrier from my research.
The rolls I ordered arrive sometime tomorrow so this weekend I'm going to try to install as much as I can without killing myself in the heat.

It really does work it will make going in the attic in the southern summer bearable….it will also help the house stay warmer in the winter months

Attic Foil
That's real interesting. P ut radiant barriers and water source heat pumps in a house I built in the early 80s. The radiant barriers wee like fiver boards with the foil as part of it. I just had the builder tack them to the bottom of the roof rafters in the attic.
The water source for the heat pumps were a series of 250 foot deep loops for each heat pump that basically brought the water back onto the system at between 65 and 75 year round. The system thought is was spring time year round.
My electric bill was general about half my neighbors.
