After this dry summer my azaleas have brown leaves. Should I cut them them down or will they revive next spring?

Did it drop any leaves, or did they all die in place all at once?

Didn’t drop leaves. I broke off a branch and it’s green inside. Should I leave the branches alone with the dead leaves or cut off branches?

Just leave it and see how it responds.

You will have a better idea on what needs to be pruned at that time.

If it is green inside, I definitely wouldn’t cut them down. Just don’t over-water and see what pops out in the spring.

I have azaleas that didn't come back well at all after the deep freeze last winter.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to pull them up and start over.

Dead one here too that seems to be dying from right to left. Then all of a sudden, blooms will hit, then go back brown.

Already removed half of the bush so far the last couple of months.

Anyone know how fast they will grow with a new plant?

Few years back same thing happened and I was told by an old school garden place in Lafayette to cut them back to 4-5 inches from ground and pray. They came back. In the spring. That is why I always went back to that store for 30 yrs.

I lost one of two new plants in my front bed. When would be the best time to plant a new replacement?
