We are looking to add an outdoor kitchen area to our house.

We've talked to several contractors about doing this, and they say they'll get us an estimate, but they never get back to us. Even after asking for updates.

Are they just so booked up they aren't looking for small jobs right now?

If you'd like, send me an email and I'll help you out. I have a company here in town that specializes in this.

This is the case for my area. It also depends on what you are looking for. Is the space already covered? If so, that opens up more contractor options. I also learned that some outdoor landscaping companies have licenses to do outdoor construction.

You can use the Louisiana Contractor Search to try and find some other options.

Pretty much this is the case. A neighbor of mine does this type of work. A week or 2 ago he said he has a 5 month backlog of outdoor kitchens/ pool cabanas/ etc.

It is also very hard to confirm pricing right now. Lumber yards are honoring prices for a 24 hour period. This period starts when the lumber is quoted.

nobody who is any good is ever looking for small jobs. Small jobs take just as much time and effort as larger ones, for less money. You just have to be patient right now because everyone is busy
