Connecting sewerage to SWBNO

Anyone know a contractor/master plumber that connects sewereage to SWBNO main lines for a lot that doesn't currently have it? Also, what's that cost? I've heard horror stories.

I know a cousin of a guy who can handle this

Generally, it’s the municipality that comes out and makes the main connection, but it looks like OP is putting that on the homeowner now. I’ll ask my buddy if he knows anyone doing connections in OP.
New Connection
For reference, I had a new connection put in a 2 years ago in JP. It was ~$4K.

The “horror stories” that you heard were likely from folks that waited far too late to start the process. I am sure that city crews actually install a connection to the sewer main and provide a stub out on the property line. I am guessing you have to get someone to connect your house to that stub.

That’s what I figured as well, as that’s how it’s generally done, but that may not be the case in OP if I’m reading their website correctly (excerpt below from the link I provided in a previous post).
quote:
When connecting your private property to the public mains yourself, your licensed contractor must apply in person with our House Connections Department at 625 St. Joseph Street, Room 261. Your contractor must have a state-issued Municipal and Public Works Contractor license and a certificate of insurance indemnifying SWBNO by at least $5 million in order to work on public property. Your licensed master plumber must file for intent to establish new service connections at the property address with us before your contractor may apply.

yeah SWBNO doesn't do that in Orleans anymore. You gotta hire a contractor w/ a master plumber and the 5 mil of coverage. A buddy of mine in the business who has never done it says he has been told 30K which seems absurd.

I can’t believe that’s correct. That would be absolute insanity! I asked my buddy (journeyman) if he knew anyone who did it and he said NOLA is too big of a PITA to deal with, so none of them did connections.
