Wow that is crazy. Very similar replacement last year. Replaced a 18 year old American standard 4 ton with a 14 SEER Rheem packaged unit for 5750

I did the very same thing in November for $6000 in Prairieville

This is what I had as well. 21 year old 4 ton 10 SEER unit. Wanted to stay with Trane but they were $10,000 for a 14 SEER 4 ton system and the Rheem system I bought was also 4 ton 14 SEER and $6000. Could not justify the extra cost.

You mind sharing the name of the HVAC company that installed your Rheem in the Prairieville/Baton Rouge area? I might like to get a quote from them.
