I have a key lime tree and a lemon tree potted outside currently. Bring them in the garage during the cold months. In Baldwin County, AL.

What is the best fertilizer and when should I feed?

Thanks.

For potted citrus, I use this water soluble fertilizer, ordered from Amazon, monthly plus I also use Osmocote slow release fertilizer (you can buy that at the big box stores) of similar nutrient composition, perhaps 2 or 3 times from spring to fall - just follow labeled directions as to the amount to add. The key to these fertllizers are the micronutrients they contain which are important for potted plants. For in-ground citrus, just a standard garden- vegetable fertilizer.
