I'm looking at applying Ortho Bug B Gone granules to treat some chinch bugs. Do I need to be concerned with temperatures being so high in SE LA? There is no temp restriction on the label
Or is there a safer treatment for this time of year?

I'll ask my buddy Carl Spackler and get back to you.

No issue with the insecticide harming your lawn grass with this heat if that is your concern.

I have dealt with chinch bugs in my St Augustine grass as well. I have used Hi Yield Bug Blaster granules with pretty good success.
My recommendation would be after your initial treatment, treat again in about 3 weeks.

How big is your yard? I would suggest using liquid talstar and a backpack if your yard isn't too big.
