Our chimney crown has some cracks in it which are letting water drip down the inside of the brick chimney. Has anyone used a crown repair compound to seal cracks in their chimney crown? Any successes, failures, tips, or recommendations?

Get a sledgehammer and demo re cast it in place but any good mason can get this done for 1000-1800 in a day

You could clean it really well then fiberglass over it. Or you could use bondo, sand it smooth and repaint the whole cap with rustoleum. You are talking about a metal cap, right?
