Chamber vacuum sealer

I purchased a Vevor chamber vacuum sealer about a year and a half ago. It was crazy cheap for what I got, but with that I knew eventually I would run into longevity issues. Well, that day came sooner than anticipated. The unit seems to be pulling the proper vacuum (based on the meter), but when the cycle is complete, the bag doesn't "skrunch" enough. Small pockets of air remain in the sealed bag. My vacuum pump oil was slightly low, so I added some, but the problem persisted. A generic google search didn't really come up with anything. Has anyone fooled around with these machines? Some internet postings even said it could be the bags......but that seems unlikely. Looking for any direction.
I do not use the machine very often, but I do enough to want one. In the event I can't get it working again, what do I do? The name brand models are close to a grand. I picked this one up for right at two fitty. Youtubers swear by the model I purchased. Sealing hundreds of items with no issues. Maybe I just got bad luck with this particular model. Opinions welcome.

I have one of their regular sealers that cost about $150 and have had no issues with it in about a year. I seal a lot of fish.
What is the advantage of the Chamber sealer? Sorry to hijack your thread.

You may want to also ask this on the Outdoor Board.

The do a better job than the regular ones. You can also vacuum seal liquids and marinades. Bags are cheaper, too.

I bought the JVR 100 on sale last Black Friday. I think it was $799. It is oil cooled for less long term issues. Buy once, cry once.

Is the bag sealing properly? Check the seal closely because that's a likely issue. If it is sealing properly, then there are a few possibilities:
1. There's an air leak somewhere
2. The food you're vac sealing is too warm
3. The vacuum is weak
2 quick tests you can do:
1. Put a small amount of lukewarm water in clear cup, put it in the chamber and it should start to boil towards the middle to end of the vacuum cycle and stay boiling until the release cycle starts to let air back in. If it's not boiling, it's pulling insufficient vacuum or has a large air leak. If it's boiling and slows or stops before the release cycle stops, air is slowly leaking back in.
2. Blow up a balloon a little bit, like very small and put it in the vac sealer. It should expand 10 times its size or more and hold that size until the release cycle starts. If it doesn't expand a lot, you have insufficient vacuum or a large air leak. If expands and starts to shrink before the release cycle starts, there air leaking back in.
From there, check the lid seal, inspect the lid and chamber for cracks and inspect all the hoses and tubing. Hopefully the problem pops out because it gets more technical from there

Try using food saver bags, I bought some off brand on Amazon and they were junk.
I went back to food saver bags and have no issues,

Thank you! This is the kind of direction I was looking for. Hopefully, I can figure the problem out.

I purchased the Avid Armor USV32 after reading about it here, I have had it for about 4 years now without any issues. Chamber Vac
You can get 100 bags for about $25.
You can vacuum seal chili, soups, beans, etc. i had a food saver for years but wish i had this chamber sealer for years.
