I have a low spot on the side of my driveway that goes towards my pond. Would take a shitload of dirt to fix the issue and lots of money. Thinking of putting a few 6 inch catch basins and about 100 ft of the corrugated solid drain pipe instead. Looking at about 250$ total of project. My question is, should I add gravel on top of the pipe or under the catching basins? I thinking of under the basins to help with debris and to prevent the catch basins from sinking over time but is it needed for coverage of the pipe?

Solid pipe doesn’t need filter fabric or rocks

I would do solid sch 40 pvc over solid corrugated

Bury the pipe 8-12” in the ground

Put rocks under the catch basins.. if you are worried about the catch basins sinking, you can always concrete them in. Here is my yard

Yep, no need for filter fabric or rocks for the pipe. Just make sure you pack the dirt above the pipe well so it doesn't sink and cause a dip above where the pipe is.

I agree that I'd do smooth PVC if it doesn't jack the price up too much. I hate that corrugated shite
