Some areas are growing higher, thicker, and dark green, but there’s another section in the middle that will not grow, is not green, and only seems to produce seed heads.

Based on a previous thread, is the soil just too compacted? We parked on that area for 3.5 years before there was any hope of grass growing (all shade previously).

Additionally the dark green edges have a bit of material added to them, some topsoil, some sand, some river silt (as you can see). Perhaps this explains why the grass is darker green?

It was all fertilized in August with 13-13-13. Just once this year.
I’ve mowed every 2-4 days since August using an Ego rotary at lowest setting (1.5” HOC).

Might be a little stressed. Overall, doesn’t look that bad. It is October too. I usually stop caring in October.

Is it Tif vs common. Tif is darker and common produces more seedheads

Get a soil test and see if the PH is OK. And let it grow higher; helps keep moisture in.

It has all just grown in naturally since I started caring for it in July. So, common?

One day I just noticed a small patch of Bermuda and the sun, heat, and watering has done the rest.

I definitely want to get a soil test, but I was cutting low and often to push horizontal growth.

Also, I like Bermuda to be low and thick if possible. I think the grass likes it too.
