Have a burn pile for limbs and such that over the years the ash has built up. Any ideas for what to do with this? Thought about filling in low spots in yard.

Ash makes for a decent soil amendment to raise pH. I would spread it evenly over the yard as opposed to filling in spots.

This. I don't think it's a thing for a few years now, but at one time the sugar cane farmers would burn the cane fields while the cane was still in them to get rid of a lot of the leaves on the plants that were of no use and the ash helped amend the soil.

depends on what you want
you can rake it smooth and the grass will grow over it. You can add organic materials and such and create a garden bed. you can leave it a burn pile site

I always spread it over my raised vegetable and herb garden beds and lightly rake it in. Great soil amendment. I don't think it'll fill it now spots that well though.

I have the same issue….a 3 ft high pile of ashes and I don’t know what to do with it.
