BR store to help locate part for upstairs gate

I posted earlier this year about our upstairs gate situation and was hoping the board could help name a store or two in the Baton Rouge area to locate a part I would need.
Upstairs stairway has a metal gate attachment that is no longer on attached. Looks like I will need a J bolt of some kind. Which stores nearby would be able to help me figure out what I'm looking for? Might go with Home Depot to start.
This is where the door would be hinged at. It has two threaded holes:
Below is the gate. Does NOT have threaded holes:

Don’t go to Home Depot if you want help. Their staff won’t have any clue. They don’t even know where stuff in the store is located and have to look it up on their phone.
If you want to try a hardware store, you can try one of the ACE stores around town. I’ve had really good luck with the one on Millerville, and their staff is helpful.

Something like this, if you can find it to be correct size for the nuts you have, you could cut to proper length, but will probably have to get something custom fabricated

St Gabriel Hardware if the kit above doesn’t work.

I would start with Ace Hardware.
